Our client, market leader in the Food Manufacturing sector is looking to hire a Head of Manufacturing Operations, based in Midrand
The successful candidate be responsible for overseeing all the operational aspects within the food manufacturing environment including driving revenue growth and operational excellence, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and implement strategies to optimize production efficiency and profitability as well as assist in building a high performing and positive company culture
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manufacturing and Sourcing Strategy Implementation
- Oversee and implement manufacturing and sourcing strategies
- Develop and execute long-term growth plans
Manufacturing and Factory Oversight
- Manage manufacturing operating models and workflows in the factory
- Set guidelines, design systems, and determine production quality criteria
- Mitigate manufacturing risks and ensure performance meets objectives
Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and legal requirements
- Oversee adherence to national and international manufacturing standards
- Implement performance improvements and handle non-compliance issues
New Product Development
- Assess and drive new product lines based on market data
- Engage stakeholders to explore new product opportunities
- Build partnerships and devise business cases for new lines
Culture Creation and People Management
- Promote company values and foster a positive work environment
- Engage employees and ensure effective communication
- Implement a high-performance culture and address poor behaviors
Reporting, Budget, and Financial Management
- Manage Business Unit budgets and monitor adherence
- Propose cost-saving measures and manage costs
- Conduct post-campaign analysis and reporting
Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing / Production OR a Business Related Degree
- Master's Degree preferred
- Min 10 years plus experience in Production and Food manufacturing
- Min 5 years' experience in process improvement, lean manufacturing and project management
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong understanding of high throughput production processes and food manufacturing experience
- Financial Analytics and Business Acumen
